This page keeps you up to date with upcoming dates relating to the rise slam.
In 2007, as in previous years, the Poetry Society slam team will be touring the capital to seek out raw new spoken word talent to work with over the course of the project. Whilst the rise slam is a competition, the Poetry Society considers all participants to be winners and continually looks for those young people who might have a vocation to work with the spoken word in all its forms - whether they are knocked out in the first round or they are the last slammer left standing. Many of our success stories surround those who did not make it to the finals, but who showed a talent for language and performance, and the dedication to develop.
We will be out and about actively seeking fresh and challenging new spoken word artists throughout April and May. Dates and venues need to be confirmed but below are the definites so far...full details to follow....
